  • FAVUZZI LASAGNE 500g

    Favuzzi artisanal pasta is made in the Antola Natural Park, near Genoa, in Italy, using nothing but mountain spring water and premium 100% Italian durum wheat semolina. Favuzzi lasagna sheets are made using a process similar to the ancient rolling pin method, which gives them a rough and porous texture that helps sauces stick. They are then dried at low temperature for 8 hours. The result: pasta of an unparalleled quality which, when cooked, has a consistency similar to fresh pasta.

    Favuzzi uses premium bronze casts to create a lovely porous texture to their pasta, to which sauces stick more easily. To achieve a classic al dente consistency, Favuzzi artisanal pasta undergoes a slow drying process at 30°C for 12 to 20 hours, depending on thickness. This ensures the centre of the pasta stays firmer and doesn’t cook as much once plunged into boiling water. Thanks to this consistency, your pasta dishes will be a success, every time.

    Favuzzi’s hearty Puttanesca-Style Tomato Sauce contains pine nuts as well as capers and green olive pieces, giving it a flavour and fragrance that recall a blend of mustard, black pepper and lemon. Puttanesca tomato sauce is traditionally served with spaghetti or penne. Add anchovies for a saltier version. It’s also a great starting point for a chicken cacciatore recipe. Authentically Italian pasta dishes are not served swimming in sauce. Average proportions are 375 mL (1 ½ cup) tomato sauce for 500 g (1 lb) pasta. Don’t throw away all the pasta cooking water: it’s a good idea to add a bit to your sauce. Mix in ¼ to ½ cup cooking water with the sauce before adding the pasta. The salted, starchy water will enhance flavours and thicken the sauce, helping it stick to the pasta. 480ml
